How Exact Age Is Calculated
Age is calculated using completed calendar years, months, and days – the same way people normally describe age. This means a person born on June 15 doesn’t turn a new “year” until June 15 arrives each year, with the months and days portion filling in the gap for the current partial year.
For example, someone born on June 15, 1990 turns 36 years, 2 months, 6 days old as of August 21, 2026.
Calculating Age on Any Date, Not Just Today
Setting the second date field to a specific date (rather than leaving it blank for today) finds exact age as of that date – useful for figuring out someone’s age on a past event, a legal filing date, or a future milestone.
