Aggregate Percentage Formula
Aggregate % = (Sum of All Marks Obtained / Sum of All Maximum Marks) × 100 Example: English 85/100 + Maths 72/100 + Science 90/100 = (85 + 72 + 90) / (100 + 100 + 100) × 100 = 247 / 300 × 100 = 82.33%

Aggregate vs Average: What Is the Difference?
Aggregate percentage sums all obtained marks and divides by the sum of all maximum marks. This correctly weights subjects with different totals (e.g., a subject out of 50 vs one out of 100). Simple average would average the individual percentages — giving equal weight to every subject regardless of its maximum marks.
How to Calculate Aggregate Step by Step
- List all subjects with marks obtained and maximum marks
- Add up all marks obtained to get the total numerator
- Add up all maximum marks to get the total denominator
- Divide and multiply by 100
