Calculate your crop yield. This free crop yield calculator finds yield per hectare from a harvest, or total harvest from an expected yield, and converts t/ha to bushels per acre for major crops.

Bushels / acre

Yield per hectare = total harvest ÷ area; total harvest = area × expected yield. Bushels are weight-based and vary by crop, so the conversion uses the standard bushel weight for the crop you pick. Actual yields depend on variety, weather, soil and management.
Use this free crop yield calculator to find your yield per hectare or total harvest. Enter area and harvest, or area and an expected yield, with bushel conversion for major crops.
What this crop yield calculator does
A crop yield calculator works both ways: it finds yield per hectare from a total harvest, or estimates the total harvest from an expected yield — and converts to bushels per acre.
How crop yield is calculated
yield per hectare = total harvest ÷ area
total harvest = area × expected yield
bu/acre = (kg/ha ÷ bushel weight) × 0.4047
So 12,000 kg over 3 hectares is a yield of 4 t/ha; for wheat that’s about 59.5 bushels per acre.
Bushel weights by crop
Crop
Bushel weight
Wheat / soybean
60 lb (27.2 kg)
Corn / maize
56 lb (25.4 kg)
Barley
48 lb (21.8 kg)
Why yields vary
Variety, weather, soil fertility, water and management all shape yield. Comparing yield per hectare across fields and seasons helps you spot what’s working and plan inputs.

Crop Yield FAQ
How do I calculate crop yield?
Divide total harvest by area. 12,000 kg over 3 hectares is a yield of 4 tonnes per hectare.
How do I convert t/ha to bushels per acre?
Divide the kg/ha by the crop's bushel weight, then multiply by 0.4047. For wheat, 4 t/ha is about 59.5 bu/acre.
How much does a bushel weigh?
It depends on the crop: 60 lb for wheat and soybeans, 56 lb for corn, and 48 lb for barley at standard moisture.
How do I estimate my total harvest?
Multiply your area by the expected yield. Five hectares at 8 t/ha gives an estimated 40 tonnes.
What affects crop yield?
Variety, weather, soil fertility, water, pests and management all play a part, which is why yields vary between fields and seasons.
Is the crop yield calculator free?
Yes, this crop yield calculator is completely free, needs no sign-up, and gives instant results in your browser.
