How Travel Budget Calculator Works
A travel budget is really just your daily per-person costs multiplied out across every traveler and every day of the trip, plus whatever you’re paying for transport as a single lump sum. The travel budget calculator adds these pieces together to give you a full estimated total for the trip.
Formula: Total Trip Cost = (Lodging + Food + Activities) × Travelers × Days + Transport
- Days — trip length in days
- Travelers — number of people splitting the lodging, food and activity costs
- Lodging — cost per person, per night
- Food — cost per person, per day
- Activities — cost per person, per day
- Transport — total cost of flights, rental car and similar, entered once for the whole trip rather than per person
