The laminate flooring calculator tells you exactly how many boxes and planks to buy for your project. Enter your room dimensions, plank size, and planks per box, and see the total with waste factored in — plus an optional cost estimate.

How Many Boxes of Laminate Do I Need?

Measure your room in feet, multiply length × width for the area, add 10% for waste, then divide by the box coverage (printed on the packaging). For example: a 15 × 12 ft room = 180 sq ft + 10% waste = 198 sq ft. If each box covers 20 sq ft, you need 10 boxes.

Laminate Flooring Formula

Room Area = Length × Width (sq ft) Total Needed = Room Area × (1 + Waste%) Plank Area = Plank Length (in) × Plank Width (in) / 144 Box Coverage = Plank Area × Planks per Box Boxes = ceil(Total Needed / Box Coverage)

Common Laminate Plank Sizes

Investment Calculator FAQ

How does an investment calculator work?

An investment calculator estimates the future value of your money using your initial investment, regular contributions, expected annual return, and investment period. It also factors in compound growth over time.

What is compound interest?

Compound interest means you earn returns not only on your original investment but also on the returns you've already earned. Over longer periods, compounding can significantly increase your investment value.

How much should I invest each month?

The amount depends on your financial goals, timeline, and budget. Even small monthly contributions can grow substantially over time thanks to compound returns.

What annual return should I use?

Many long-term investors use an estimated annual return between 6% and 10%, depending on the type of investment. Actual returns are never guaranteed and can vary from year to year.

Why are my investment results only estimates?

Investment performance depends on market conditions, fees, taxes, inflation, and other factors. The calculator provides projections based on the values you enter and should not be considered a guarantee of future returns.

Is the investment calculator free?

Yes, this investment calculator is completely free, requires no sign-up, and provides instant results directly in your browser.
